About the AMA
and Our Chapter
What is the AMA?
The American Medical Association Medical Student Section (AMA-MSS) is dedicated to representing medical students, improving medical education, developing leadership and promoting activism for the health of America. Our primary goals are to encourage members to remain active in community service, policy creation, advocacy, and to undertake leadership positions in the AMA, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and the Medical Society of Erie County.
Who we are?
We are the local chapter located at the Jacobs School of Medicine at the University at Buffalo in downtown Buffalo, NY. We organize service events, work to change and develop AMA national policy, holds talks to provide awareness to different issues in healthcare, promote advocacy, and attend conferences. This website provides information about our members, conferences, events and also offers options on fun places in the area to grab a bite or study in Buffalo.
